Hi, I’m Alysha - a registered psychologist.

I am from a small town in Taranaki, on the wild west coast of New Zealand. All my life I have been fascinated by humans, and passionate about connecting, understanding, and helping them.

I have been helping people like you for the past 7+ years. I have worked in a number of physical and mental health settings, but mostly in psychology practices doing short, medium and long-term face-to-face therapy all over NZ.

The process of listening and supporting people is very important to me. I aim to help people understand the ways in which they are stuck, identify what is truly important to them, and help them figure out how to move towards making that happen. I truly believe in the theories and models I use, and embody them in my own life.

I believe that we all have strengths and I am always looking to grow and use those to help people become more flexible – flexibility is key in being able to do what matters to us, despite any suffering we might be experiencing. Suffering is the thing that connects us all – and I want to help people build a rich and meaningful life no matter what.

Clients usually say that I am warm, understanding, friendly, genuine, and non-judgmental. I like to also be transparent, and part of my service is that afterwards, I will email you a summary of each session and agreed goals, to double-check we are on the same page, and are moving at the same pace.
